Vilnius Vocational School of Builders was established July 1, 2000, after joining together Vilnius Vocational School of Builders No1 and Vilnius Vocational School of Builders No3, both schools having extensive professional and organizational experience.
Vilnius Vocational School of Builders No1 was one of the oldest vocational schools in Lithuania, established in 1946.
Vilnius Vocational School of Builders No3 was established September 1, 1981. Principal Juozas Baranauskas has been heading it since then.
In 2000, after both the schools had been joined together, Vilnius Vocational School of Builders became the biggest vocational school in Vilnius and its region, training workers for construction and wood-working industries.
In 01/07/2004 the School was reorganized into a public institution Vilnius Builders Training Centre (VBTC) which is an open, modern training institution that provides knowledge and develops skills necessary for a future profession, promotes life long learning and development.
All staff at VBTC have gained valuable, first hand experience working in their chosen fields. VBTC has established close networking links with employers and local industry, Vilnius College, Vilnius Technical University, Vilnius Pedagogical University, which ensure that the courses prepare students for the careers they intend to pursue VBTC aims to provide person centred services designed to best meet students‘ needs. The Centre has experience of supporting a diverse range of learners and works closely with students with disabilities and additional learning needs, students coming from socially supported families, etc.
